Born on 1st March 1953 at Beligodapitiya, Rambukkana.
Studied up to grade 2 at St.Peter’s College, Bambalapitiya, then at Nalanda College, Colombo 10.
Played cricket at Nalanda College, from under 14 to 1st XI.
1st XI team represented from 1968 to 1972.
Captained the Nalanda 1st XI Cricket team in 1971.
1st Test Cricket Captain of Sri Lanka National Cricket team
Current President of
Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club
Charter President of CHSOMSF and a Patron of the Foundation.
